What's here to love?

I can't wait to go to London for a week now. Having spent 6 months in Switzerland now, I'm seriously bored. Yes, there are a few events and you could go skiing if you wanted to, but I'm not a skier. The nights out can be quite boring, the swiss people rather arrogant and you always bump into the same expats. Even worse if it's people you'd rather not ever see again in your life. But Zurich is a village!!! Get me outta here! Seriously... I booked so many trips out of Switzerland for 2010, it's concerning. I'm glad to live right in the heart of Zurich, very close to the train station... but more for the reason to get out of here as soon as possible. Apart from the gym and the job I have not found good reasons to like this place. Everything is a bit sterile, everything runs efficiently and I can't believe I'd ever say such a thing, but I miss the long commute and the late trains and the humorous bickering and moaning of everyone. I don't get to read any books anymore and I don't get to moan about the train journey anymore. Something is wrong. Everyone here seems so "happy" about everything, it's scary. Everyone is just so "super-cool" - the girls run around in baggy jeans and hoods and if you wouldn't know you might mistake some of them for a boy. But that's just a fashion/culture thing over here I guess. Weird. Or am I getting older? Probably both!

Currently my real joys are the sun (thank god, finally there is some sun in this country), the gym, the UK television, my new camera, the prospect of hiking, motorbiking and playing golf as soon as the spring is out. Job is not quite what I was looking for but I should try and stay positive (who am I kidding? I'm telling myself this for the last 6 months), meet some less boring people.. maybe that'll strengthen my love to this new country.

I can't deny it, I'm searching "desperately" for something to really like over here that I could not live without if I was moving anywhere else. I guess it all comes down to personal expectations but any suggestions are welcome ;)
